Reforestation 2024
Desertification, or the loss of fertile and productive land, is one of the issues that deepens—by reducing the number of trees, the greenhouse effect increases—the climate crisis facing the planet. One solution is reforestation. Despite its challenges, it has become an alternative to once again color thousands of hectares in green.
Almost a third of the planet is covered by forests, equivalent to 4.06 billion hectares. These vast forested areas provide us with the essentials for survival: the water we drink, the food we eat, and the air we breathe. However, we are depleting our life source: human activity destroys 13 million hectares of forest each year.
